Brain-Injury Deaths Lower Among Alcohol Users

Filed under: Uncategorized — Sober Bot @ 2:01 pm
Survival rates are higher among brain-injury patients who had alcohol in their bloodstream when they got hurt, according to a new study which found that drinkers spent less time on ventilators or in the intensive-care unit than victims who did not drink before their injury.

Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

From the Book: Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life....Living The Wisdom Of The Tao.

Change the way you see the storms of your life...
Work at removing ego as the dominant influence over you. Release the need for attention of others and witness how people become drawn to you naturally. Let go of having to win an argument and being right by changing the atmosphere with a statement such as "You're very likely correct. Thanks for giving me a new perspective." This kind of proclamation gives everyone permission to relax their rigidity because you have no need to prove yourself or make others wrong. If you change the way you think, the life you're living will change, so be willing to say, "I don't know" or "I'm uncertain as to why I even did what I did." As Lao-tzu reminds you, when you suspend your pomposity and rigidty, others recognize themselves in your flexible nature and they'll trust you.

Sports drinks may have some of the coolest commercials, but they're necessary only if you exercise for more than sixty minutes. They rehydrate your body faster than water after long periods of exercise because they help you recover muscle power sooner than water does (because they contain minerals in your body called electrolytes that hasten the absorption of water). But if you drink them regularly or after short workouts, you'll end up consuming more calories that won't get burned off.

If my mental health was right

Filed under: Uncategorized — pen @ 3:26 pm
Obviously to drink like a maniac means my mental health isnt right.
The whole "survival" thing is screwed up.

I drink for "pleasure"
That is short lived.
My whole life is so hard and so miserable that I give up my health for a few short hours of "pleasure" ie absence of anxiety...very few short hours. Then the anxiety comes back ten times worse.
What do I think I get out of it??

A couple of hours of freedom...24 hours of increased anxiety.
I really think it is a form of madness

Ponderings Again…

So my kids at school wanted to know about the story of the Birds and Bee's... no I mean really, what is the history behind the actual story of the Birds and Bee's? Is there really a story? Or where did we get that expression "The Birds and The Bee's" to relate it to sex?

...I guess I was never told the real story! LOL

Poll: Many Americans Want E-Cigarettes Available, Regulated

Filed under: Uncategorized — Sober Bot @ 10:26 am
A poll of more than 4,600 Americans found that 47 percent think electronic cigarettes should be legally available for smokers, but more than half also believe the devices should be regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
